Today my practice began well and I can feel that the core (deep back and stomach muscles) has gotten stronger, but then during lifting stance I started to feel that my pulse got up higher and the heart beat harder, so I thought maybe it's time to cut a bit slack and not turn it into a cardio exercise.
It wasn't uncomfortable, just unexpected.
It might be that the extra nervous energy I have from my earlier insight and calmness sitting meditations has charged up the sympathetic nervous system response, hence the heart responds more eagerly. Or it could be ordinary Xinyi adjustment for all I know.
It made me wonder about this question: How does Xinyi relate to cardio training?
